JAXA database for the Joint DPW-AePW Workshop

This webpage contains JAXA's database to be used for the Working Group #3: Unsteady Aerodynamics/Buffet, as part of the joint DPW-8/AePW-4 workshop.

For more information, please visit the DPW-8 website.

Case 2: Unsteady CFD / Static wing

For case 2, the participants are required to perform unsteady CFD simulations, while considering rigid/static structures. The in-tunnel measured deformed geometries are provided, as well as the corresponding experimental data. Please, refer to the DPW test case list (link to be added) for further information about test conditions and simulation requirements.

Deformed geometries

The NASA-CRM geometries with experimentally measured deformed wings can be downloaded here.

Experimental data

The experimental data can be downloaded here.

Case 3: Unsteady CFD / Dynamic wing

For case 3, the participants are required to perform unsteady CFD simulations, and structural dynamic response (fluid-structure interaction). The finite element model (FEM) is provided, as well as the corresponding experimental data. Please, refer to the DPW test case list (link to be added) for further information about test conditions and simulation requirements.

FEM model

Due to the different instrumentation installed, the right and left wings of the NASA CRM jig shape used in JAXA's experiments are different. Here, we provide two simplified stick FEM models: the "full-span FEM" (as per actual jig shape) and the "half-span FEM". These two models are meant for full-span and half-span CFD simulations, respectively.
